Emancipation Proclamation
On September 22, 1862 President Abraham Lincoln issued a brief proclamation. It was only about 1,00 words long, but it changed the course of history forever, and the lives of numerous Americans.
It was first read in a meeting between President Lincoln and his cabinet.
Here, printed in its entirety, is the proclamation that changes the states forever.
