The Learning Island Story

What's New!
We have just added 30 new books to bring the total number of books to over 300! Access them by clicking on the Book List button at the left.
We also just added a number of activity sheets to the books in the Sea Creatures and Wild Animal Sections.
About Our Books
Here at Learning Island we are committed to helping kids discover the joy of reading and learning. This site has hundreds of books that you can print out and keep. Teachers are welcome to print them out and share them with their kids, libraries can print them out and add them to their collection, companies can print them out and give them to their clients.
The only things we ask is that you do not save the books on your computer or share the files with others. Instead, the books must be printed directly from this site. You are also not allowed to sell them for any price, including the amount it cost you to print them. This allows the volunteers who have spent so much time creating these books and resources to protect their copyrights. All the books on this site are copyrighted and all rights are reserved.
Some of the books are part of our 15-minute series. Research has shown that kids who read for at least fifteen minutes each day become better readers and have much more comprehension of what they read. Because of this, we have created a number of short books that take children about fifteen minutes each to read.
We also have a number of books that help kids learn core concepts and fun facts, as well as some books that are just for fun.
We are also working on adding activity sheets to go with many of the books, to reinforce concepts taught at each grade level.

The few volunteers running the LearningIsland.org website have borne the costs of the site for the past years and we are asking your help.
